What is your refund polidy?
Classes/Workshops fees are non-refundable. Please check your calendar carefully before committing to a class enrollment. We appreciate as much notice as possible for cancellations. Cancellations must be made no later than 3 days BEFORE the date of your class/workshop, in order to maintain a class credit. Failure to do so means forfeiture of your class fee. If arrangements are made before the deadline, students may transfer fees, as a credit, to another class (subject to availability). There are no make-up classes for any classes missed. If you miss one class in a series (Beginner classes for example) you may not be able to continue with the series without first scheduling a private lesson ($40 per hour) to get caught up. Please keep in mind that Private Lessons are not always available.
I understand things happen that are sometimes out of our control, however we strictly enforce our policy. This is not only for the benefit for you or your Tween/Teen, but for the benefit of all students participating in the class. For example, when one misses any of the first three classes during a beginner class for Tweens and Teens they would not be able to catch up and when this happens this only discourages them from sewing, which would be a great loss for your student as sewing is fun, creative, and very useful skill to have.
Do I need a sewing machine?
No, we offer the use of our sewing machines for classesroom use. All kids and teen class must use studio machines.
At what age should my child start at?
At the studio you must be at least 8 years or older for classes and 9 years or older for workshops. However, the best question you should ask is my child ready? They must be able to sit for at least 1 1/2 hours and pay attention to the instructions given and not be afraid to learn new things.
Do you take Credit Cards?
NO, not at this time. I do hope to be able to set up Pay Pal in the near future.
These classes sound like so much fun but they are way out of my budget. Do you ever do discounts or payment plans?
We want learning to sew, which we view as a hugely valuable life skill, to be affordable for all. Let us know your situation and we'll see what we can work out.
Will my child need to bring anything to class?
For the most part, No. The Beginner sewing classes and Sewing Club include use of the sewing machine, all supplies, and even fabric. Our Fashion Design class each student must purchase their own fabric.
What sewing machine do you recommend for me to purchase?
Because everyone needs are different when purchasing a sewing machine, I have put together a newsletter on Sewing Machines
See Sewing Machines Newsletter for detail.
Do I sell Fabric?
No, I do hope to sell fabric in the future.
If my childs class includes fabric and she wants to purchase her own somewhere else, will I be refunded?
